Deborah Vance is a legendary Las Vegas stand-up comedy diva. After learning that her show dates were being cut, Deborah's manager Jimmy LuSaque suggest she hires young comedy writer Ava Daniels. After this, the women's lives both take a turn. Played by actress Jean Smart, Deborah makes her debut in the series premiere episode, "There Is No Line," in the series' first season. She is one of the three main characters throughout the entire series.
